A Sneak Peek at the Film John Wick: Chapter 2

If the 2014 film John Wick didn’t fully satisfy your action and revenge-thriller needs, fear not because John Wick: Chapter 2 hits theaters February 10, 2017. Directed by Chad Stahelski, this sequel stars Keanu Reeves reprising his role as the retired hitman John Wick, who is ready for vengeance once more. Recalling the success of the first film, which was acquainted to its’ simple plot, fun and riveting action scenes, and a strong performance by Reeves, John Wick: Chapter 2 has the potential to characterize the series as the next great action franchise.

As far as the plot of the sequel goes, limited information has been released to the public, however, what we do know is that 1) John Wick is definitely coming out of retirement and 2) He is going international. Drawing from the official synopsis Lionsgate released, John Wick travels to Rome, Italy to face some of the world’s deadliest killers after a former associate, who Wick is bound by blood to, forces him to. In addition to this brief synopsis, we also know there are new notable actresses and actors who have been added to the sequel. Yes, that is Laurence Fishburne. If you are a true action-film fan, then the sight of Keanu Reeves and Laurence Fishburne together is probably brining up some serious nostalgia for you. Is that Neo and Morpheus? Is this The Matrix? No, it’s not; it’s more accurately John Wick and “the Bowery King.” With this new character addition, John Wick: Chapter 2 is looking like it has the potential to bring as much entertainment as The Matrix franchise. In addition to Fishburne, Common, Riccardo Scamarcio, and Ruby Rose will join Reeves on the big screen.
