Taekwondo is Korean martial arts that has many different belt ranks. The belts are typically awarded after a student demonstrates proficiency in the required techniques and knowledge for that belt rank in promotion tests.

What Is The Order Of Taekwondo Belts?

Orange belt: The orange belt usually comes after the white and yellow belt. It signifies aspiring growth and abilities, while developing new skills. It shows that the student has taken intermediate steps and become good at any specific form.

Green belt: The color green belt is the next belt level after orange belt. It signifies that the wearer has progressed in their training and is beginning to learn more complex techniques. The green stripe means proficiency in self-defence techniques.

Blue belt: It signifies that the wearer has mastered the basic techniques and is now learning more advanced concepts. A blue belt practitioner teaches and walks through the steps of Kaizen boot camp.

Red belt: Red signifies that the wearer is an expert in taekwondo and is able to execute complex techniques with ease. Red stripe means the student is a brave, hard-working individual with a Kihap. There is a red-black belt that is between the red belt and black belt.

Black belt: The color black belt is the highest rank, and highest belt in taekwondo. It signifies that the wearer has mastered all of the taekwondo techniques and is a true master of the art.

What Does a Brazilian (BBJ) Practitioner Do?

Most importantly, a BBJ practitioner mainly focuses on ground positions. A BBJ comes up with new ways and positions to maintain control and domination. It’s important to know the history of the belt system.

The Brazilian jiu-jitsu belt system and Japanese martial arts are quite similar to the belt system in Taekwondo. For example, BJJ belt system signifies a person’s increase in a wide breadth of technical knowledge and skills. And I mean, a large amount of knowledge.

Typically, you take a test administered by a Taekwondo instructor. The purple belt indicates that you are halfway through getting a black belt.

This practice is so impressive, competitors show their skills at the Olympic games, specifically the 2020 Sydney games. You can go up the rankings starting at a 1st geup to a 10th geup.

While the color of your belt is an indication of your skill level, it is also a reminder that you are always learning and growing as a martial artist.
