The Bachelorette Blake Moynes Shares His First DM To Katie Thurston

The Bachelorette’s Katie Thurston has a new man! Blake Moynes, from Tayshia Adams and Clare Crawley’s season surprised Katie during episode 4. While Blake meets Katie for the first time on the show, the Bachelorette reveals that they have spoken before via Instagram DM before.

Tayshia Adams Confronts Her Ex

Former Bachelorettes Tayshia Adams and Kaitlyn Bristowe now host The Bachelorette. They are replacing long-time host Chris Harrison after his official departure from the show.

Tayshia also had a relationship with Blake Moynes on her season, so seeing him show up for Katie was a surprise. Blake joined host Tayshia Adams and guest co-hosts Mike Johnson and Bibiana Julian to talk about his decision.

Recalling her reaction, Tayshia says “I’m pretty sure Blake can tell you, I literally sat in the chair and I stared at him. I was like ‘What are you doing here?'”

She adds, “I was kind of protective over Katie. I knew she was putting in like, her heart and soul into what she was doing.” Tayshia also says, “At the end of the day I also know Blake is a good person, so I also wanted to hear him out.”

Blake Moynes Sliding Into The Bachelorette’s DMs

The Bachelorette Katie Thurston tells fans that she and Blake Moynes have spoken before via Instagram DM, but what did they talk about? Blake explains that he reached out to Katie after her first episode on Matt James‘ season of The Bachelor.

Moynes explains that he appreciated Katie’s limo entrance to meet Matt James, where she presented Matt with a vibrator.

Blake says that when he sent a DM to Katie, “It was just literally a simple reach out — it wasn’t like, ‘Hey, I’m into you.’ Like no, it was like, ‘I f—ing love that you did that. That was f—ing awesome. Good for you,'” and adds, “It wasn’t like, ‘Hey super into you, want you.’ No.”

As for how he approached Katie on her season, Blake says he feels they were “on the same wavelength.”

While Katie showed some hesitation about having Blake join her season, he did his best to calm her nerves. He said, “I promise you that if it came down to the end and we connected the way I think that we might, we would be engaged at the end of this.”

Katie Takes A Chance on Blake

After taking some time, Katie decided to let Blake officially join the cast of season 17 of The Bachelorette. Once the rose ceremony ended, she knocked on his hotel room door.

A very sleep Blake answered, quickly put on clothes, and accepted his invitation to join the show. Blake explains the funny exchange saying, “I had no idea if she was going to come to my room. I had no idea what was going to happen.

He also says, “As it got late into the night I knew the rose ceremony had started, I thought I was good for the night. I had no idea. I just went to bed thinking, ‘Okay, this is another day, I have a whole ‘nother day before anything happens.’ So I think they knew that I was probably thinking that way, so they stirred the pot a little bit with having her show up in the middle of the night and catch me off guard.”
