After last week’s dramatic hometown episode, Katie Thurston only has 2 guys left, Justin and Blake. Last we saw our bachelorette, she was sitting on the bathroom floor asking to go home. Will Katie Thurston end her journey early? Here is the scoop on The Bachelorette Season 17 Episode 10 recap!
The Bachelorette co-hosts Tayshia Adams and Kaitlyn Bristowe host the finale.
The morning after Greg leaves, Katie struggles to decide to stay or leave. Back in the house, Blake and Justin wonder what is going to happen next. Tayshia and Kaitlyn arrive and tell the guys that Greg is gone.
Also, they tell the guys that Katie is going to stay and the guys will have the chance to continue their journeys.
Moving Forward With Blake
Katie has another one on one date with Blake. They have a paint-balloon fight. While relaxing in a hot tub, Katie walks Blake through her week. She tells him about Michael leaving, and then Greg. The conversation shows Blake how much Katie cared for Greg.
Going into the evening of the fantasy sweet date, Blake plans to tell Katie he loves her. He’s nervous because earlier she revealed that after Greg left she considered leaving too.
Blake worries that Katie’s feelings for Greg are still too strong. He tells Katie about how his hometown date is when he started really falling in love with her and finally tells her, “I love you.”
In a shocking twist, Katie breaks her own rule and tells Blake that she loves him too! After both Blake and Katie confess their love, they choose to stay together in the fantasy sweet.
The next morning, they enjoy breakfast in bed. Katie says, “This is the happiest I’ve been in a long time.” After she and Blake say goodbye, Katie talks to Kaitlyn about her time with him. She calls it the, “Best day of my life.”
Katie gushes about how much she loves Blake and that her heart belongs to him. The only problem is that Justin is still here.
Getting ready for his date with Katie, Justin is very excited. Unfortunately, Katie tells him that she is in love with Blake.
Katie assures Justin that their relationship did so well because he was open with her and that he is a good guy. He tells her he thinks the world of her and he just wants her to know she’s special. It is a very tough but sweet breakup, and Jacob goes home.
Back at The Bachelorette reunion, Justin joins Kaitlyn and Tayshia. He says that watching the breakup still hurts. He admits that he’s not upset with her.
However, in the midst of the Greg drama, he feels that Katie did not give him a fair chance. Katie joins him and they talk for the first time since their breakup and he thanks her for what he learned in their relationship.
After their talk, we see a hilarious compilation of every funny face Justin made throughout the season.
With only Blake left, it is time for him to meet Katie’s family. Katie’s mom and aunt come to see Katie and Blake.
Katie mentions that her family is very low-key but her aunt is not very affectionate. Her aunt has a very blunt conversation with Blake and explains that they do not need him in the family. It will be nice if he and Katie work out, but he is not necessary.
Katie’s mom is more warm with Blake and really just wants Katie to be happy. After meeting Katie’s family, Blake is a little rattled. He does not doubt his feelings for Katie, but he is questioning if they are ready for marriage.
They perform a ceremony where they write down their fears, read them to each other, and then burn them.
To Propose Or To Not Propose
The Bachelorette Season 17 Episode 10 recap is heating up! Katie gets up the next day excited to get dressed to go to her final rose ceremony.
Meanwhile, Tayshia Adams presents Blake with a selection of gorgeous Neil Lane engagement rings. As he looks at the rings, he is still very nervous about his decision to propose.
He takes a minute to step away and says, “My head just feels like scrambled eggs.” Tayshia then talks to him and says that if he’s not ready to propose he needs to let Katie go.
Katie arrives for her final rose ceremony and she’s ready for Blake to propose. Driving up in the car, Blake is still apprehensive about proposing.
The moment of truth arrives and Blake meets Katie at her final rose ceremony. Katie professes her love for Blake, and then it’s Blake’s turn to talk.
Thankfully, Blake talks about how much he loves Katie and how he knows she’s the one for him. He gets down on one knee and asks Katie to marry him. No surprise, she says yes! Katie also gives him her final rose. The engaged couple rise away on horseback.
Greg Grippo Returns
Greg Grippo joins Tayshia and Kaitlyn to reflect on his time on The Bachelorette. He says that after his hometown he was hoping to get back on the same page with Katie, but their disconnect was too much. He also says that he has no regrets and would not change anything he did.
Greg shares that Katie brought him happiness in their relationship and that he’s happy for her and Blake.
Katie comes out on stage and does not greet Greg before sitting down. After rewatching her journey, she defends her actions and accuses Greg of never wanting an engagement.
About their breakup, she says, “That was a time I needed you the most and you ran away.” She also accuses him of going on the show to get acting experience.
She reveals that after filming, she learned that Greg attended acting school. Also, there are many rumors of him not actually being the shy person he seems to be on the show.
Katie tells Greg that he was rude, spoke down to her, and he that was gaslighting her. Greg says he’s sorry and that it was a tough environment for him. Katie says that she does not regret how she handled their breakup.
Greg also tells Katie, “If it was me, you would have stopped me.” Also, Katie adds, “When he left, so did everything I felt for him.”
Katie and Blake
Blake joins Katie for their first appearance as an engaged couple. Katie reveals that she didn’t trust her family to keep a secret, so their engagement is a surprise to her family too.
Reflecting on their relationship, both Katie and Blake admit they fell in love on Blake’s hometown date. Katie adds that since the proposal they have grown even more as a couple.
She also shares that Blake’s proposal is all the more special because up until the moment he was unsure. Sitting with Blake, she says that her entire journey was all worth it.
Katie also takes a moment to thank the hosts for supporting her. She also thanks Kaitlyn for supporting her after Greg left, and Tayshia for introducing her to Blake.
Blake tells Katie how proud he is of her and surprises her by playing the song “Memorize You” from their first date.
