All About Hometowns
Kicking off The Bachelorette season 17 episode 7 recap, things are getting serious! Katie Thurston is down to her final 7 guys. Now things are extra serious, and Katie is thinking about who to take to hometowns.
At this point, Brendan has not had a one one one date and he is eager to spend more time with her. The only issue is that when the date card arrives it is for Greg Grippo.
Greg got the very first one on one date, so it has been a while since he spent time with Katie.
Katie’s Second Date With Greg
For their one on one date, Katie gives Greg a taste of her home town Seattle, WA. They shuck oysters, pick flowers, and play football.
The couple also talks more about their relationship and how much they care for each other. They talk about hometowns too, and Greg says he would be comfortable bringing Katie home to his mom.
At dinner, Greg opens up about his time in the house and how much he appreciates Katie. He also tells her he’s falling in love with her. Katie says, “Those are the words I needed to hear.”
To end their perfect Seattle date, Greg and Katie kiss in the rain.
We also see an adorable call between Michael A. and his son James.
The group date card arrives and it says Justin, Andrew, Blake, Michael A., and Brendan will go on the group date. This means that Mike will get the last one on one date.
Brendan is disappointed because this means that he will not get the one on one. He confronts Katie about having never had time with her, and they talk about the missed potential of their relationship.
Deciding not to make Brendan go through the group date, Katie sends him home.
The Bachelorette’s Group Date
Continuing The Bachelorette season 17 episode 7 recap, it’s time for a group date! Katie takes her group date to an art exhibit. The look at works by artist Jacqueline Secor, and then try their hand at their own art. Michael A. makes a sculpture, and the other guys paint pictures.
During the later part of the date, Katie uses this time to connect with the guys on deeper levels. She talks with Michael A. about meeting his son and she assures Blake and Justin about their relationships.
Andrew recreates their one on one date and tells Katie he’s falling for her. At the end of the night, Katie gives the group date rose to Michael A.
The Bachelorette’s Date With Mike P.
For Kati’e date with Mike, they cuddle in the woods with a cuddle expert. After lots of nervous giggling, they eventually calm down and bond during their cuddle.
While Mike and Katie are on their date, the guys talk about what they think of their relationship. Blake does not think that Mike has a future with Katie, since he is a virgin.
Back on the date, Mike is happy with his time with Katie. Unfortunately, Katie feels that she has stronger relationships in the house. She feels it will not be fair to have Mike go to dinner or meet her family, so she sends him home.
He leaves saying, “The only regret I have is that Katie and I didn’t have more time.”
Heading into the rose ceremony of The Bachelorette season 17 episode 7 recap, Greg and Michael A. have roses. Katie has 2 roses to give tonight, and each rose means that she will meet their families.
Katie gives roses to Blake and Justin. Unfortunately, we have to say goodbye to Andrew. Tearful, Katie remarks that sending Andrew home is the first choice she made based on hope. She is not completely confident in her choice.
The next morning, Katie is still worrying about her decision when there’s a knock on her door. Surprise, it’s Andrew!
Andrew says he came back because he did not want their goodbye to be so sad. He tells her he’s proud of her and that he’s glad they met. He leaves her with a note to read when he’s gone.
The note says, “If you change your mind…I’ll be waiting.” Katie then goes on a frantic journey throughout the building to find him and give him one last hug.
She asks him if he’d want to stay a little longer if possible, but he tells her no. He explains that he feels “hurt in this place” and that he can’t risk her not choosing him again.
Katie and Andrew get the closure and loving goodbye that they missed the night before.
