The Bachelor’s Kit Keenan Talks Facing Online Negativity
Matt James is the star of a very dramatic season of The Bachelor! From drama in the house to new women joining the competition, fans have a lot to talk about. Most recently, one event worth talking about is the departure of contestant Kit Keenan. Since leaving the show, Kit talked exclusively with E! News talking about life after The Bachelor!
Here’s the scoop on how Kit Keenan is doing and how she deals with online negativity!
Kit Keenan and Matt James
The 21-year-old is the daughter of fashion designer Cynthia Rowley. While she is one of the younger contestants on the show, she consistently stayed true to herself.
During her time on the show, Kit seemingly formed good a connection with the star Matt James.
The two even shared a romantic one-on-one date where they cooked dinner together in Matt’s room. During this date, Kit opened up to Matt about how much cooking means to her, saying it reminds her of good memories with her mom.
Kit Leaves The Bachelor
This past Monday February 15, Kit Keenan departed from Matt James’ season of The Bachelor, leaving fans shocked!
While vying for one of the important upcoming hometown dates, Kit elected to remove herself from the competition. She explained to Matt that she is not yet ready for marriage.
Kit told Matt, “After our one-on-one, I said I could see myself falling in love with you, and I never thought I could let my guard down as much as I have with you. I thought I would have the clarity I needed going into hometowns, but hometowns isn’t a figure-it-out situation… You deserve someone who is 100 percent sure of you getting down on one knee tomorrow, and that’s not me.”
How Kit Stays Positive
In an exclusive interview with E! News, Kit Keenan shares how she’s staying positive since leaving the show. She explains, “I think that Instagram has really become a place of positivity for me. I think prior to that, it was very toxic. I was really only following people that I looked up to for their aesthetic—models and influencers mostly.”
Kit’s advice? “If you have to follow those people, mute them. Otherwise, unfollow them.” She further explains, “In the past year, I’ve really shifted that to follow a lot more mental health accounts, socially responsible [accounts], cooking accounts, and things that bring me joy. I think at this point the algorithm knows I’m not there for toxicity.”
The Bachelor contestant’s mom also took part in the interview. Cynthia Rowley shares that her daughter’s new outlook is influencing her’s as well.
Rowley shares, “I learn from Kit every single day. She’s very grounded… Not that I live in a fantasy world but so much of my job is imagination and thinking outside the box, and I think she always sets it straight. I think she has a good sensibility and a good perspective on fashion and on the world.”
Mother/Daughter Fashion
As the daughter of a famous designer, Kit Keenan clearly has style. However, Kit and her mother say that they have very different tastes.
Kit says, “My mom is more in the camp of keeping the extra accessory on or taking risks more with fashion and I’m more in the neutrals camp. I have a very vintage aesthetic with my style. But sometimes… my mom will be like, ‘That looks hot! Wear that out.’ Otherwise, I’ll wear kitten heels and a turtleneck every day.”
So it seems that Kit Keenan is doing well since leaving the show! With Kit no longer on The Bachelor, Matt James is coming closer and closer to giving out his final rose. Who do you think will be the lucky lady?
