The Best Bath Bombs for Cold Winter Days
Winter is just around the corner and I’m sure that you’re not ready for those cold winter temps. One of the best and most relaxing things that you can do for yourself is to take a long and warm bath. I love taking baths because self-care is so important! Baths aren’t only a time for you to snap Insta-worthy photos, but they’re a time for you to let loose and forget about all of your problems. Plus, there are so many different types, colors, and scents of fizzers. The possibilities are unlimited!
Full disclosure, many of these bombs will be from Lush. They just know how to make the perfect bath bomb! But there are so many hidden gems and smaller companies that deserve a chance, too.
Shoot for the Stars
I have nothing but good things to say about this bath bomb. It’s not only gorgeous but it smells AMAZING! Plus, at 7.95, it’s sort of a steal! The little stars fall off the bath bomb and provide you with a super moisturized bath. You’ll feel beautiful and perfectly smooth. This bath bomb is infused with Brazilian orange and bergamot oils. This bath bomb should definitely be at the top of your list.
Gnome
If you’re looking for something a little cheaper, Walmart fizzies are your best bet. You just need to be careful and pick wisely because some of these are duds. If you’re all about those epic bath bomb photos, these may not be the right bombs for you, as they do not fizz up as much as Lush bath bombs do. My personal favorite is the GNOME bath bomb by Hallu. This bomb creates a gorgeously dark bath. The plus side? There isn’t much reside left from the bomb. Plus, it’s only 8.91 for three!
Twilight
Have you ever felt just so exhausted? Maybe from a long day at work or you’ve just returned from a long run. The Twilight bath bomb may just be perfect for you. This bath bomb is perfect for those sleepy, cold nights when you’re looking for something to soothe those achy muscles and help you fall asleep quicker. It’s no surprise that this one is a fan favorite.
This bath bomb also smells AMAZING. There is also a Twilight spray and pairs perfectly well with Sleepy Dust powder, which you can add to your bath for extra relaxation.
Antoinette’s Bathhouse
There are several amazing bath bombs featured on this site. You’ll feel great using these bath bombs knowing that you’re supporting a small business. You should take a look at all of the bath bombs and bubble bars that this business has to offer here. Take a look at the video below to see my bath bomb demo. It smelled soooo good and I loved the touch of small rose pedals that floated in the water. These bath bombs are pretty close to those that you’d see at Lush and they’re even cheaper.
Secret Arts
This beauty is extra special. Why? It has jelly inside of it! Yes! Jelly. Lots of people are thrown off by this bath bomb but you need to give it a chance. You’ll feel magical and embrace your darker side and witchy powers. This bath bomb was inspired by Harry Potter which makes it so much cooler. With smells such as cinnamon, almond, and orange, you’re getting your money’s worth. It’s time to rebel and get your jelly on. This is the perfect bath bomb for Instagram posts.
Day Dreamer
Full disclosure: This bomb will require a little bit more cleaning than most. You also won’t get that strong of smell with these. Now that we’ve got that out of the way–let me tell you what sets this bath bomb apart from the others. This is the perfect bath bomb for those that are looking for mermaid vibes without all of that frothy bubbliness that’s found in most other bath bombs. The brand Onyx Bathhouse can be purchased at WalMart. These are probably some of the cheapest bath bombs you’ll find that actually work. They’re only 1.00 but be warned that I’ve tried out at least 20 of these bath bombs from this brand and some of them are duds. Day Dreamer is not one of them.
Asquith and Somerset Bath Fizzers
Don’t confuse these with bath bombs. They’re a little bit different. These fizzers simply change the color of the water and add a nice scent. This is the perfect kind of product for a beginner, or maybe even a small child. Plus, there is minimal to no cleanup after using one of these. The colors are gorgeous and the smells are pleasant. This was a gift and I highly enjoyed it. This particular set was “spruced mint & rosemary.” You can find similar bath fizzers here.
Frozen Bath Bomb
This beauty is perfect to mention with the new release of Frozen II. So if Frozen had an official smell, this would definitely be it. For some reason, this scent screamed Arendelle to me with its crisp layers of ice and snow. I loved this bath bomb even as an adult. I know your kids would love it, too. Who doesn’t love an icy colored and glittering bath? The color reminded me exactly of Elsa’s blue dress that she wore in the first film while she sang Let it Go. I will definitely buy this bath bomb again. Bonus points if you listen to the Frozen soundtrack while relaxing!
Bonus: the bath bomb includes a little gift inside. Mine was a small gem and a few Frozen stickers.
Guardian of the Forest
Hints of rosewood oil, lime oil, cypress, oil and feeling like you’re in an enchanted forest while taking a bath? Yes please! The glitter really adds another great element to this bath bomb and the colors do not disappoint. This is certainly another Instagram worthy bath bomb. If you’re a fan of nature in general and the smell of the outdoors, this is the perfect bomb for you. At 7.95, you’re not breaking the bank.
Bubble Bath Cakes
These bubbly and beautiful gems are found at Antoinette’s Bathhouse. Each one creates a unique color in your tub. These bath cakes are a little different–you have to leave them bubbling under the showerhead while you’re preparing the bath. The results are not disappointing and there are so many different options for you to choose from. The prices for each one are only 3.50 so they’re practically a steal. You can check them all out here. I recommend Unicorn Treats and Mermaid love for a glittery bath.
Onyx Bathhouse
On their own, this brand of bath bombs are usually not that great. Like I mentioned above, they tend to be duds that lack in color. But one day I was desperate and discovered a secret: when you combine two of these cheap bath bombs, you get something incredibly magical! Mermaid vibes. I’m telling you, you can make a quality bath by buying two of these 1.00 bath bombs and creating something truly magical.
Don’t believe me? Check out these photos below that I created with Onyx bath bombs. This was from the same bath which was extra amazing. I felt like I was enjoying two baths in one as I watched the colors slowly change.
Lord of Misrule
Lush’s Lord of Misrule scent has been popular since its release a few years back. It’s the smell that truly draws fans to this particular bath bomb. If you’re a patchouli lover, you’ll certainly love this one.
From the exterior, this gem seems slightly bland with a light green tint to it. However, it has a surprise once the bomb begins to erupt. You’ll see hues of pink start to pop out and it’s truly gorgeous and rather enticing to watch. Lord of Misrule has a 98% recommendation rate.
Tadaima Okaeri
So this bath bomb may be a teeny tiny difficult to pronounce. But this bath bomb has SO much glitter. If you’re a fan of glittering bath bombs, you need to get this one. Another added bonus is that cream of tartar adds smoothness to the bath so that you’ll be perfectly ready for winter. Goodbye dry skin. This bath bomb is a little more expensive at 9.95 but it’s totally worth the glitter-filled wonderland.
