The Love Is Blind Story You Didn’t See With Lexie Skipper – Sarah Scoop Show Interview
The Sarah Scoop Show chatted with “Love is Blind” star Lexie Skipper on her unconventional journey to find love on the hit Netflix show. Lexie gave us the scoop on the show’s unique casting process, her romance with Wesley, and her new fashion venture!
It all started with Instagram

“It’s so crazy because it was actually filmed October 2018. So it’s been quite some time since the whole casting and filming and everything. I was reached out to on Instagram, and I was almost actually on Colton’s season of ‘The Bachelor’…It all started from Instagram DM. Literally three weeks later, I got another message on Instagram, and this time it was from ‘Love is Blind’. At the time I didn’t really now much about it…This kind of stuff doesn’t happen to me very often. It was like two casting opportunities in the matter of like two months…I was like why does this keep happening to me? I feel like it’s a sign. I might as well just go for it.”

Not going to Mexico was shocking

Lexie and Westley were one of two couples who did not attend the vacation in Mexico. When she found out she wasn’t going, it was truly shocking for Lexie.
“We went back. I was packing, getting ready for the vacation, and the next thing I know I’m not getting a knock on the door. They were like we did not expect this many couples to connect, and we just don’t have the bandwidth to cover eight couples…They didn’t really ever tell us like details. But we were ready to go to Mexico, and the next thing we know, we’re just sitting at home with no cameras. It was kind of like a whirlwind, honestly…It was kind of like, what just happened?”

Lexie & Westley are super close

Although they became engaged, Lexie and Wesley’s romance was met with timing and geographical issues which caused the two to part ways.
“I wanted to really launch my career in fashion. I was ready for that next step, and he had already told me while we were in the pods that he had always wanted to move to Asia. Like that was one thing that was on his bucket list…He got the opportunity to do that right after the show…Naturally being that far away, it was going to be really hard for us to make that work. We’re super close…Timing wasn’t right. A lot of things played in as factors.”

Passion for Fashion

“Love is Blind” has provided Lexie with crucial connections that is allowing her to experience her dream job in fashion.
“I always wanted to go into fashion. It was something more that I did as a hobby because I didn’t go to school for fashion…Fashion’s always been a really big part of my life…After the show, I was like if there was ever a time. So I do personal styling. I’m starting to work a little bit with production too for styling for tv shows and movies…I love shopping. I could just literally go shopping for my friends all the time…Honestly, dream job!”

Dating wasn’t clicking

“Dating, I was just kind of fed up with it…It’s just hard to date, you know? I just felt like, you know what, maybe this is how I’m going to meet somebody. Not really conventional or how I would have planned it, but I really did feel like it could be a great opportunity to learn about myself a little bit more and put myself out there and see what happens.”
