It’s no secret that Eleanor is not from Boston. Her home in The Motherland is a mystical place, very different from the human world that we know. This line is a very accurate depiction of Mackenzie when we first meet her. She is no-nonsense and does not believe in magic, so her hearts desire is very practical. Also, anyone who has over-plucked their eyebrows will be able to relate to this. When it comes to eyebrows, we could all use a fairy godmother!

7. ‘Instead of telling people what true love is supposed to look like, maybe we should let them tell us.” -Eleanor

In one of Eleanor’s bravest moments, she stands up to her headmistress, Moira. Eleanor is defending not only her own methods as a fairy godmother, but also the actions of Mackenzie and her family. Also, she is giving hope to a new age of fairy godmothers who can help to create different types of happily ever afters.

8. “Maybe it’s time to rewrite the book.” -Moira

9. “Sometimes love just means shoveling someone’s driveway.” -Hugh

In a callback to a moment earlier in the movie, where Mackenzie mentions that sometimes it’s nice having someone you love around to shovel the driveway, Hugh hints at his affection for her. About Disney’s Godmothered

Beginning with an overview of the film, Jillian Bell explains that her character, Eleanor, wants to prove that fairy godmothers are important. Bell also teases that Mackenzie, portrayed by Isla Fisher, “doesn’t really believe that she needs a fairy godmother. But maybe she does.”

Set at Christmas time, “Godmothered” is a comedy about Eleanor, a young, inexperienced fairy godmother-in-training (Jillian Bell) who upon hearing that her chosen profession is facing extinction, decides to show the world that people still need fairy godmothers.

Finding a mislaid letter from a 10-year-old girl in distress, Eleanor tracks her down and discovers that the girl, Mackenzie, is now a 40-year-old single mom (Isla Fisher) working at a news station in Boston.

Having lost her husband several years earlier, Mackenzie has all but given up on the idea of “Happily Ever After,” but Eleanor is bound and determined to give Mackenzie a happiness makeover, whether she likes it or not.
