Top 5 Places To Go Ghost Hunting
Ghost hunting is one of my many hobbies. I’ve travelled to many places in search of the paranormal. Here’s the scoop on five places that you may be interested in visiting if you want to communicate with the dead.
1. Waverly Hills Sanitorium

Waverly Hills opened its doors in 1910. Patients of all ages with tuberculosis were treated at this hospital. Many people died at Waverly Hills. With the number of deaths increasing, the hospital staff began throwing the dead patients down a body chute. It is believed that the ghosts of these patients still roam the empty halls of the sanatorium.
I went to Waverly Hills Sanatorium with my brother and a few of my classmates for a paranormal class. What happened that night was something that we would never forget. My friends and I were exploring the top level of the sanatorium. Everything seemed to be going okay until we spotted my brother from across the hallway. We called his name but he didn’t reply back and I noticed that his eyes were very dark. He entered a random room as my friends and I followed him. When we reached the room he was gone, so we went downstairs to talk to my professor and a few of the other students. My brother was with them and we were in complete shock. I asked him why he was upstairs and everyone looked at us like we were crazy. My brother never left the group and according to my teacher it was because we saw his doppelgänger. If you go to Waverly Hills, you might just find yourself encountering someone that isn’t who you think they are.
The body chute is the creepiest place of all where all the action took place. When there were too many people dying in the sanatorium, they would throw the bodies down there. You might notice some strange mist coming from the end of the tunnel. Or you might see a figure on the top of the tunnel that is trying to grab you. You can use a rem pod to communicate with ghostly figures. One of the employees informed us later that night that the ghostly figure was “the creeper,” who enjoys scaring people during their stay. So, be sure to ask the employees about the ghosts that they’ve encountered. In the video you’ll be able to feel the fear that we felt while standing in the body chute.
Waverly Hills Sanatorium is considered one of the most haunted hospitals in the country. Don’t believe it? Go see for yourself.

2. Bobby Mackey’s
This nightclub and bar appears to be normal but it actually holds a gruesome past. Bobby Mackey’s is considered one of the most haunted nightclubs in the United States. People claim that this bar is the gateway to hell. Many ghosts are known to be hanging out at the club when it closes down for the night. Several employees hear strange sounds and voices when they are alone. One legend claims that a dancer by the name of Johanna took her life at the nightclub when her lover was murdered.
Bobby’s Mackey’s is eerie at night to be ghost hunting. One of the scariest rooms in Bobby Mackey’s is the upstairs. Your paranormal group can communicate with the dead using a ghost box. This machine uses white noise to recreate words and sounds. Many of us offered to work for the nightclub and waited for a reply from the dead. We heard the ghost box say “go downstairs.” Will you volunteer yourself to meet some ghostly friends?
If you’re looking to get some great voice recordings of ghosts, then this is the place to go ghost hunting.

3. The Crescent Hotel
The Crescent Hotel is full of history and ghosts. A doctor by the name of Norman Baker used the hotel as a hospital for patients with cancer. Baker claimed that he had a cure for cancer. Many patients died under his supervision. Norman’s patients aren’t the only ghosts that occupy the hotel. A popular ghost named Michael fell from room 218 while the hotel was under construction. Another ghost at the hotel is named Theodora. She was a nurse at the hospital. Theodora is known to keep her room clean and will organize your belongings if you leave a mess. You can spend the night with her in room 419.
You may encounter Michael and he’s a pleasant ghost. Many ghost hunting groups use flashlights to communicate with Michael. You can tell him to switch on the left light for yes and the right light for no. Michael answered every question that we asked him.
So, the Crescent Hotel is the perfect place to go for beginners. Maybe Michael the friendly ghost will pay you a visit in room 218. Maybe you’re looking for a more hands-on gal? Theodora is your girl.

4. The John Wornall House
This home once belonged to John Wornall, a rich Missourian who donated his property to the wounded during the Battle of Westport. It is said that many soliders died in his home. Wornall, his three wives, and many young children also passed away on the land.
Visiting the Wornall house is almost like being on set of a soap opera. Your ghost hunting team may be able to communicate with all of John’s wives. You’ll quickly learn that when one wife is brought up, another wife will become jealous and interrupt the electronic voice phenomenon. Another investigator mentioned the ghost’s dead children and we were immediately told to leave her room.
If want to see drama in the afterlife, the John Wornall House is the place to be. Although, you should stay clear of mentioning their children who passed away.

5. Black Star Canyon
Located in Silverado California, Black Star Canyon is a trail with a ominous past. Black Star Canyon is home to many Native Americans who were murdered. It is also rumored that Charles Manson camped out at the park for several weeks where he performed terrifying rituals.
Many people can be seen walking around the canyon during the day. At night Black Star looks like a scene from a horror movie. While walking around the trail, you could possibly hear screams from a distance. You could also see a figure in the forest as my friend and I did.
Black Star Canyon is not a safe place to go at night. However, if you’re willing to walk the long trail during that day, you’ll see an abandoned bus and a few other haunting objects left behind.
