We get both points of view from the couple as they give us insight into their relationship and the mystery surrounding Any Dunne.

3. My Lovely Wife by Samantha Downing

My Lovely Wife” by Samantha Downing is about a seemingly normal couple who live just like the rest of us. They have kids, they love each other greatly, they live in the suburbs and are the perfect neighbors They just happen to also be getting away with murder.

A domestic fiction novel that will get you so engrossed! Though the plot seems simple, it’s a fun read that will take any reader on a tense and thrilling journey.

4. The Familiar Dark by Amy Engel

The fourth book on this top 5 thriller list is “The Familiar Dark” which tells the story of Eve Taggert, who recently lost her daughter to murder, takes it upon herself to figure out the truth of what really happened. Though, Eve might have to return to her own mother, to help her find out the truth. Her journey to find out the truth takes her through her poor town and eventually back to her own mother.

This story is tense and explores relatable topics like mother/daughter relationships. A great and fascinating read!

5. Mexican Gothic by Silvia Moreno-Garcia

The most recent release on this list and the last book on the top 5 thrillers list, “Mexican Gothic” is also a horror/historical fiction. The story is about Noemí Taboada who, after getting a letter from a cousin asking for someone to save her, travels to the Mexican countryside. Soon, she begins to unravel secret after secret about the family her cousin has married into. But Noemí begins to find it difficult to leave such a mystifying house.

Another great page turner, and because of its recent release date, is the perfect book to talk about with friends or in a book club!
