Top 10 Things To Do At Disney World’s Hollywood Studios

Get a taste of the stars, music, film, and theatre at Hollywood Studios. This is one of the better parks for adults at Disney World, with a mixture of multiple thrill rides and sit down shows. Step into the movies and check out the top ten things to do at Hollywood Studios.

1. Twilight Zone Tower of Terror

Inspired by the spooky show The Twilight Zone, this drop ride takes you into the fifth dimension. After you check into the haunted Hollywood Tower Hotel, you’ll take an elevator to the thirteenth floor and drop into darkness. This ride is frighteningly fun- so put your hands up and get ready to scream!

2. Rock ‘N’ Roller Coaster Starring Aerosmith

For a music lover like me, Rock ‘N’ Roller Coaster is the perfect combination of a thrill ride and a rock concert. After a casual run in with Aerosmith, you get invited backstage after a show. Speeding in a limousine through the Los Angeles Freeway, you’ll make sharp turns and loop upside down all while jamming to hits like Walk this Way.

3. Slinky Dog Dash

The newest coaster in Hollywood Studios, Slinky Dog Dash is fast, fun and family friendly. Shrink down to the size of a toy and ride on Slinky’s back through building block hills and tunnels. You’ll also get a beautiful view of all of Toy Story Land, so you can’t miss this ride.

4. Star Tours

(Disney)

With the new Star Wars Land, Galaxy’s Edge, coming out soon, fans are excited for the possibilities of new rides and adventures. However, Star Tours has been a staple of Hollywood Studios for a while now. This flight simulator takes you for an intense chase aboard the StarSpeeder flown by R2D2 and C-3PO. This ride is regularly updated so the characters you encounter could be classic Yoda or more modern like Kylo Ren.

5. Toy Story Mania

Nothing’s wrong with a little friendly competition, even if you lose every single time like me. Toy Story Mania is a carnival style 4D shooting game taking you through Andy’s room. As you ride, you and the player next to you earn points by hitting moving targets. This ride spins, slides, and will leave you smiling.

6. Star Wars: A Galactic Spectacular

Hollywood Studios has multiple nighttime shows, and Star Wars: A Galactic Spectacular is one of the best. Disney projects scenes from every Star Wars movie and spin-off onto the buildings around you. Even if you aren’t a Star Wars fan, this show is visually stunning and you’ll be awestruck watching the fireworks and lasers.

7. Woody’s Lunch Box

(Disney)

While you’re exploring Toy Story Land, grab a treat from Woody’s Lunch Box. This quick service stand has grilled cheeses, turkey sandwiches, and tater tots. Woody’s Lunch Box also has hard lemonade and cider, and root beer floats to complement your meal. This food is simple, delicious, and great for a busy day at the parks.

8. Frozen Sing Along Celebration

One of Disney’s newest movies, Frozen is a tale of two royal sisters dealing with separation and magic powers. In this Sing-Along Celebration, you will hear their story retold by two hilarious Royal Historians. The lyrics are onscreen and you are highly encouraged to belt your favorite tunes. There’s a snowy surprise at the end that brings out the child in all of us.

9. Fantasmic!

Enter Mickey Mouse’s dream world and witness a battle between good and evil. Fantasmic is a nighttime outdoor show featuring over fifty live performers, intense music, and stunning fireworks. You’ll see characters from Beauty and the Beast, The Little Mermaid, Aladdin and the 40 foot tall dragon, Maleficent, from Sleeping Beauty. This musical is dramatic, extravagant, and well, fantasmic.

10. Sci-Fi Dine-in Theater

One of the more unique restaurants at Disney World, the Sci-Fi Dine-In Theater sits you in a 50’s style diner. Order burgers and milkshakes while sitting in your car-shaped table. On a giant screen, you’ll see scenes featuring aliens, mummies, robots and more. We recommend making reservations ahead of time to enjoy your dinner and a show.

Hollywood Studios is going through major changes currently, which makes this list very hard to make! A classic favorite Great Movie Ride is being turned into Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railroad. The new Star Wars Land is also bringing new attractions, snacks, and entertainment in August this year. But for now- this was our top ten things to do at Hollywood Studios!
