Coconut oil is a great source of Vitamin E. It is nature’s gift to preserve our beauty, as the major benefit of Vitamin E is cell reparation. From my own personal experience, coconut oil is the best product for treating damaged hair and skin cells, providing luster from within. As a result, coconut oil has become a huge part of my beauty routine. Here’s three ways to use coconut oil in your beauty routine!
Many people complain about flakes appearing in their scalp- coconut oil can help solve the problem! Just apply a simple hair mask consisting of:
- 2 tablespoons of raw unrefined coconut oil
- 4 teaspoons of raw sugar, 5 drops peppermint oil
- 2 drops tea tree oil
Mix these three ingredients together and massage it in for 3-4 minutes right before you step in the shower. Wash off with shampoo as you shower.
If you’re just looking for lustrous and healthy hair, simply apply coconut oil overnight and wash off in the morning for silky shiny and healthy-looking hair with an added bonus of bouncy curls!
Coconut oil has a silky texture and works well as a lip gloss. If you ever run out of lip gloss, coconut oil is always there for the rescue! Just melt coconut oil and lipstick together in the microwave for 10-30 seconds. When the coconut oil is melted and the lipstick is softened, stir them together until the mixture is completely combined. Now add a second oil (preferably argan or jojoba oil) and stir all the contents together. And finally, place the mixture in the refrigerator for a couple of minutes right before you’re ready to use it. To apply, just gather a generous amount on your fingers and gently rub it in your lips and now you’re wearing organic lip gloss!
Coconut oil can also be used as a highlighter. In fact, many highlighters have a coconut oil base. To get the shiny texture, just sweep some coconut oil on your cheek and add some pigment or broken eyeshadow if you want to sparkle!
Coconut oil and turmeric are the dynamic duo when it comes to skincare for me. There are countless medicinal properties of turmeric and, when combined with coconut oil, it gives your skin all the therapy it needs. Prepare this mask by simply heating one tablespoon of coconut oil for 10 seconds in the microwave. As soon as it has reached its liquid consistency, add one tablespoon of turmeric and whisk it in. Apply it on your skin for 10 minutes and let it rest as you feel a tingly sensation. You will notice your pores getting tighter right when you wash it off.
