Other blood thinners are included in the following list: gingko biloba, St. John’s Wort, Vitamin E, Vitamin A, flax oil, and cod liver oil. Make sure to avoid these and consult your doctor before your procedure if you take prescription blood thinners. 

Ice packs and other cold compresses are a good alternative to reduce swelling in the affected areas.
