Why You Shouldn’t Be Ignoring The Paris Haute Couture Shows
The haute couture shows are in full swing, and you need to pay attention to them! Why? There’s some seriously awesome makeup looks popping up. I understand that the couture shows can sometimes be… over-the-top. This is the time, after all, when designers can unleash their imaginations and utilize the best craftsmen in the world to create one of a kind looks. I’ve assembled my 5 favorite looks that cover all the bases for every occasion in your life. After all, who doesn’t love a little couture?
The Everyday Look
Dior and Valentino. Need I say more? You know my affinity for a fabulous lip – it’s the perfect way to look pulled together in no time. Dior shows you how it’s done. There’s something delightfully demure about this red. It’s almost as if it’s been filtered under a soft focus lens. Paired with the side swept bangs, you’ve got yourself a look that’s worthy for 24/7 wear.
Now, the reason why I love the simple Valentino look is because of the blush. The ruddy tan blush is a needed departure from peachy pinks, and it lends a fresh nature-inspired feel. Sweep on an light beige shadow, and you can even use the same tan blush color in your creases for definition. Add some lip balm, and get ready to feel radiant.
The Going Out Look
Add a glamorous twist to your usual smoky eyes. Take a cue from Versace’s shocking blue liner. The sexy bronze eye is amped up by using metallic copper in the inner corner. The kicker is the blue liner in the inner third of the eye. There’s no way I’m not doing this my next night out!
Now turn to the Armani Privé woman. Come sundown, she owns the night. Charcoal/slate grey is one of my favorite colors, and by adding this smoldering color to the inner corner of the eye, your gaze becomes absolutely arresting. It’s the kind of stare that sends shivers down your spine.
The Trend Setter Look
Chanel sets trends. Period. There’s something so satisfying about those intertwined C’s, and it’s no different when it comes to the makeup. First you have the bold cat eye – everyone’s done it before – but when Chanel decides to add iridescent glitter? Win. When you want to just go out with your besties and dance the night away, and turn some heads, don’t brush off this look. I suggest using lustrous eyeshadow, one with almost a holographic quality, under your eyes instead. Get your freak on.
